Rum

Rum is a distilled product of the distillation of alcohol from beet or cane sugar and molasses especially of these 2 products.
From ancient Greece the fermentation of sugar for processing into alcohol is known, although further distillation for the decisive transformation was not discovered until the seventeenth century in the Caribbean.

Each producing country has its own classification of rum rum. The main differences are the product used, the type of aging and degrees of sweetness:
- Rum of Hispanic origin (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Spain), is the most diverse, and it is often lighter. There are both dry and sweet ones. The sweetest honey is rum, typical of the Canaries.
- The British rum (Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana) are generally spicy and sweet.
- The rum of French origin (Martinique and Guadeloupe), is the driest, and is usually aged in oak only. They are flavored and distilled directly from sugar cane, never molasses.

Rumis gold or black with the difference that it has been aged in oak barrels, which gives aromas of vanilla, toast and caramel, and usually is more expensive than the white rum.
